Rosamond B. Braden Cope - Monette

Rosamond B. Braden Cope, 96, of Monette, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was a retired elementary school teacher from Monette School District. She was a member of the Monette First United Methodist Church. Born in Monette, she had lived in the area a lifetime. She was a member of the PI Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by a sister, Boyce Howell, of Monette; four grandchildren, Robert G. Cope of Monroe, N.C., Kathryn Cope of Kenduskeag, Maine, Joan Higgins of Ellsworth, Maine, and Sharon Little of Bunksport, Maine; four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, James W. and Icie Lee Braden; her husband, Max G. Cope; a son, Robert G. Cope, three sisters and three brothers.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. DeVane Baldridge officiating. Burial was in the Monette Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jim Braden, Joe Douglas Griffin, Revis Stewart, Kevin Stewart, Jason Stewart, and Dickie Howell.

Honorary pallbearers were Bob Peel, Jenne Peel, Stormy Peel, and the Women of the Monette First United Methodist Church.
