Krista Shawn Denton - Lake City

Krista Shawn Denton, 31, of Lake City died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in East Chicago, Ind., she lived in the Jonesboro-Lake City area most of her life. She was a homemaker and a Girl Scout troop leader in Lake City. She was a youth bowling coach and was a member of the Women's International Bowling Congress.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Denton; a son, Cody Denton of the home; a daughter, Amanda Denton of the home; her parents, Steven and Deena Gordon of Jonesboro; a brother, Jason Gordon of Jonesboro; and paternal grandparents, Harold and Mary Gordon of Cheorkee Village.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Emerson Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with J.E. McNally officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery near Imboden.

Pallbearers were Mark Howell, Thomas Williams, Levi Hepp, Henry Frasier, Brian Stevenson and Kevin Snyder.
