Helen Cornish Gibbs - Jonesboro

Helen Cornish Gibbs, 80, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, at her home.

She was a retired LPN for Harper Clinic, Charter member of Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church, and had lived in Jonesboro four years, formerly of Monette.

She is survived by a son, Connie Cason, of Leachville; a daughter, Sharon Henson, of Jonesboro; three sisters, Naomi Smith and Wilma Williams, both of Jonesboro, and Deloris Vereb of Springdale; three brothers, Cecil Adams and John Adams, both of Searcy, and Gene Adams of Springdale; four grandchildren, Cindy Pruitt, Barry Carlton of Jonesboro, Chris Cason and Kim Simmons; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gibbs, and her father and mother, Bill and Nora Cornish, and three brothers, Jim, Billie, and Floyd Cornish, and two sisters, Marie Porter and Nora Hogue.

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oak Lawn Cemetery at Brinkley. Burial was at Oak Lawn Cemetery with Gregg Funeral Home of Monette in charge of arrangements.
