Elmer Rodgers - Manila

Elmer Rodgers, 86, of Manila, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, at the Monette Manor Nursing Center.

Born at Hollywood, Mo., he was the son of the late Roy and Jessie Robinson Rodgers and had been a lifelong Manila area resident. He was a retired Carpenter, having worked for Oates Construction Company in Manila and was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Rodgers of the home; two sons, Jeffery Galloway of Ft. Campbell, Ky., and Gary Galloway of Manila; two daughters, Faye Rodgers of Ponca City, Okla.; and Peggy Davis of Mobile, Ala.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lonnie Rodgers and a granddaughter, Morgan Renee Galloway.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Robert White officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.
