Cecil Richard Barnes - Manila

Cecil Richard Barnes, 80, died Monday, June 28, 2004, at Manila Nursing center where he had lived for the last three years.

Born at Trumann, he lived in Indiana and Trumann several years before moving to Lake City about five years ago. He had worked for Wheel Horse Inc. in South Bend, Ind., and was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include five sons, Raymond Barnes of Lake City, David Barnes of Elkhart, Ind. And Jerry Barnes, Thomas Barnes and James Barnes, all of Mishawaka, Ind.; a daughter, Carolyn Long of South Bend, Ind.; two brothers, Vernon Barnes of Tulot and Earnest Barnes of Elkhart; four sisters, Helen Garrett of Jonesboro, Nettie Plunkett of Trumann and Louise Prince and Dorothy Prince, both of South Bend; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Barnes; two sons, Richard Barnes and Danny Barnes; and a sister.

Visitation was held Thursday evening at Emerson Funeral Home Chapel in Lake City.

A private funeral service and burial was held.
