Arvil Ray "Rowdy" Royer - Leachville

Arvil Ray "Rowdy" Royer, 76, of Leachville, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Medical Regional Center in Memphis. Born at Nowata, Okla., he was the son of the late Everett and Mildred Rosebury Royer and had been a Leachville resident since 1988. He was a retired auto mechanic and oil field worker and was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Adams Royer of Leachville; five sons, Matthew Royer and Mark Royer, both of Leachville, Billy Glenn Royer of Wichita, Kan., Davie Gene Royer of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Don Royer of Wichita, Kan.; a daughter, Joann Royer of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four brothers, Bud Royer, Alvin Royer, Carl Royer and Glenn Royer, all of Nowata, Okla.; a sister, Ruth Royer of Nowata, Okla.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Craig Stull officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.
