Dortha Gauf - Caraway

Dortha Gauf, 77, of Caraway, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, in Jonesboro. She was born in Caraway and lived in Jonesboro before moving back to Caraway in 1995.

She was the manager of the GasMart in Jonesboro before her retirement, was a member of the Caraway First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include a son, Michael Gauf of Little Rock; two daughters, Pat Brown and Terry Gauf, both of Caraway; two sisters, Eunitha Tanner and Betty Sanford, both of Jonesboro; a granddaughter, Brandee Brown; and four great-grandchildren, Nikolas, Abeegayl, Keech, and Amylia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Gauf, her parents, two brothers, and three sisters.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Caraway First Baptist Church with Brother Rick Stevens officiating. Burial was in the Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery near Paragould under the direction of the Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Pallbearers were Rick Thomas, Olin Powell, Brent Powell, Clint Whitmire, Tommy Sanford, and Phillip Gallaher.

The T.E.L. Sunday School Class of the Caraway First Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial to consider the American Cancer Society or the Caraway First Baptist Church.
