Rev. William Isaac Foster - Hoxie

Reverend William Isaac Foster, 74, of Hoxie, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at his home. He was born June 23, 1929, in Tennessee, the son of Josh Altan and Gertie Lee (Lowe) Foster. He was united in marriage to Bettie June Stacks on June 17, 1950, in Dell. Mr. Foster was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was self-employed as owner and operation of Big Daddy's Country Store and Foster Auto Salvage, both in Walnut Ridge. He was a retired Pentecostal minister and a member of the Minturn Pentecostal Church in Minturn.

Survivors include a son, William Isaac Foster, Jr., of Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter, Pamela Foster of Hoxie; five sisters, Irene Choates and Velma Greene, both of Manila, Wanda Turney of Siloam Springs, Helen Potter of Tupelo, Miss., Glenda Johnson of Minturn; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Randall, Jessica, Andrew, William III, and Maddie Foster and Tamrea and Justin Massie; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie June Foster, on Dec. 3, 1995; his parents and three brothers, Tommy, Amos, and Clyde Foster.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Higginbotham Chapel in Walnut Ridge with Rev. Danny Webb and Rev. Glendan Parks officiating. Burial with full military honors was in Lawrence Memorial Cemetery in Walnut Ridge.

Pallbearers were Donald Johnson, Brett Ditto, Rick Fry, Wendell Romine, Jim Gray and Tommy Dulaney with honorary pallbearers Hank Melton and Harmon Rhine.

The funeral services were under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service, Inc., of Walnut Ridge.
