Beatrice Brown - Paragould

Beatrice Brown, 93, of Paragould, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Greene Acres Nursing Home in Paragould.

She was born Feb. 25, 1910, at Senath. She was a former employee of Arkansas State College and a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry E. and Joyce Brown of Leachville; two daughters and son-in-law, Charlene M. Kimbrell of Monette and Judy C. and Dale Johnston of Paragould; two sisters, Eva St. Clair of Farmington, Mo., and Edith Gooch of St. Louis, Mo.; five grandchildren, Larry O. Brown, Lisa Cagle, Kim Kelton, Brent Johnston and Julie Whitney; six great-grandchildren, Brooke Brown, Hunter Brown, Nicholas Cagle, Kristopher Kelton, Jonathan Whitney and Jennifer Whitney; one great-great-grandchild, Whit Cagle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Hettie Hipps; her husband, Charles E. Brown; two brothers, Floyd Hipps and Clifford Hipps and a sister, Flossie Carwile.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday, at Mitchell Fuenral Home Chapel in Paragould with Brother Dennis Scudder officiating. Burial was in the Monette Cemetery with Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Nicholas Cagle, Kristopher Kelton, Donnie Kelton, Larry O. Brown, James Whitney and Brent Johnston.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the First Baptist Church of Leachville; First Baptist Church of Monette; or Eastside Baptist Church of Paragould.
