Hollis L. "Bud" Fox - Holly Grove

Hollis L. "Bud" Fox, 75, of Holly Grove, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at Clarendon. A son of the late Bertie Lee Leslie Fox and the late Pair Zella LeFevers Fox, he was born in New Hope on Sept. 19, 1927.

He and Sarah Mae Wallace were married Aug. 9, 1947, at the home of Virgil and Zelma Romine in the Shilo Community. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Park Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Holly Grove Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sarah Fox; a son, Keith Fox of Roe; four daughters, Kathy Stewart and husband, Henry, Phyllis Hayes and husband, Jerry, all of Clarendon; Vicki Hartsell and husband, Jerry, of Holly Grove, Sherry London and husband, Steve, of Tyronza; two sisters, Syble Chism and Gladys Miller, both of Clarendon; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. One grandson, Dillan Keith Fox, is of Hornersville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joel, Odell and Willard Fox, and sisters, Dottie McKenzie and Irene Fox.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Friendship Baptist Church in Holly Grove. Brother Lawrence Britton and Brother Homer Campbell officiated. Interment was at Shady Grove Cemetery in Clarendon.

Pallbearers were Ricky Beck, Ricky Hayes, Robert Hayes, Paul Hayes, Dave Lee, Johnny Christian, Lee Stewart, and Donald Pettigrew, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were Junior Aunspaugh, Gary McCuan, Jiggs Bryant and Buddy Newby.
