Gerald Wayne Murphy - Caraway

Gerald Wayne Murphy, 60, of Caraway, died Friday, June 27, 2003, at his residence. He was retired from American Greetings Corp. and self-employed. He was a member of Caraway Community of Christ church. He had lived in the Caraway area a lifetime.

He is survived by his wife, Freddie Lee Murphy of the home; his father, Bruce Murphy of Jonesboro and step-mother, Lorene Murphy; three sisters, Norma Emison of Jonesboro, Linda Pyland of Caraway and Wanda Wonigar of Horn Lake, Miss.; a brother, Keith Murphy of Germantown; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Merrett Emery of Caraway; two grandchildren, Mandy and Michael Emery of Caraway and a grand-daughter-in-law, Starla Emery of Caraway.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Murphy.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Community of Christ Church in Caraway with Rev. Rick Stevens and Kenny Qualls officiating. Burial was in the Monette Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Active pallbearers were Mark Emery, Monte Emery, Donald Sanders, Joe Brewer, Rick Austin and Sonny Austin.
