Glenda Almeda Cagle - Leachville

Glenda Almeda Cagle, 67, of Leachville, widow of LiHue Cagle, died Monday, May 19, 2003, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Manila, she was the daughter of the late Lester Hill Giles and had been a Leachville resident for over 50 years. She was employed by the Leachville Housing Authority since 1981 and had served as executive director for over 20 years. She was a member of the Leachville Church of Christ.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Cagle of Manila and Paul Cagle of Leachville; two daughters, Donna James of Jonesboro and Cheryl Thomas of Concord; her mother, Virginia Taylor Giles of Leachville; a brother, Adrian "Bud" Giles of Fennville, Mich.; two sisters, Mary Church of Leachville and Martha Stanley of Fennville, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Lance James, Joe James, Sarah Cagle, Kimzey Cagle, Tonya Thomas Boyd, Miles Thomas and Molly Thomas.

In addition to her husband and father, she was preceded in death by a son, Kim Cagle, in 1971.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Howard Funeral Chapel with David Lawrence and Jesse Roberts officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Tommy Eldried, Greg Smith, Martin Hawkins, Larry Brooks, Barry Kirby and Jimmy Honnoll.

Honorary pallbearers were the elders and deacons of the Leachville Church of Christ and the board of commissioners of the Leachville Housing Authority.
