Clyde Cook - Manila

Clyde Cook, 91, of Manila, died Saturday, May 10, 2003, at Manila Nursing Center. Born at Shirley, he was the son of the late Oliver and Ollie Sowell Cook and had lived most of his life in Manila. He was a retired farmer and member of Manila Community Methodist Church where he taught a Sunday School class for more than 40 years.

He is survived by a son, Jerry Cook, of Jonesboro; a daughter, Peggy Cook Tucker of Manila; a sister, Vallie Casey of Helena; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Millie Mae Thomas Cook, in 1987.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Craig Russell officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Wayne Cook, Dean Tucker, Bill Hicks, Bobby Williams, Dennis Farmer and R.J. Bennett.
