June Galloway Alderman Roach - Elaine

June Galloway Alderman Roach, 82, of Elaine, died Sunday, April 13, 2003, at Helena Regional Medical Center. She was born in Moscow, Ark., on April 2, 1921, the daughter of the late Louis Altheimer Galloway, Sr., and Carrie Gould Galloway. She was a member of the Elaine United Methodist Church and a member of the Primetimers Club. She enjoyed making quilts at Delta Cultural Center.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Dean Roach of Elaine; two sons, Kenneth Phelps Alderman III of Shreveport, La., and Lawrence C. Alderman of Massena, N.Y.; a daughter, Carrie Alderman Harper of Monette; a brother, Louie A. Galloway, Jr., of Springdale; a sister, Dorothy G. Douglas of Kennewick, Wash.; eight grandsons, Kenneth P. Alderman IV of New Orleans,La., Murphy John Alderman of Shreveport, La., Louis Clayton Alderman of Kearnesville, N.C., Simon Leighton Alderman of Kearnersville, N.C., Richard Andrew Harper of Bella Vista, Houston Robert Harper of Monette; Great-grandson Christian Alexander Alderman of Bossier City, La.; a step-son, Dorman Roach of Dundee, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Kenneth Phelps Alderman, Jr.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Elaine United Methodist Church with Dr. Mary Olson officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Helena under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth P. Alderman IV, Murphy John Alderman, Louis Clayton Alderman, Simon Leighton Alderman, Richard Andrew Harper, and Houston Robert Harper.
