William "Cajun Bill" Roberson - Manila

William "Cajun Bill" Roberson, 74, of Manila, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at his home. Born in Mobile, Ala., he was the son of the late Marshall and Bessie Henry Roberson. He had been a Manila resident since 1990. He was a Mason and a member of the Shriners. In the early 1960's, he founded Harbor Call Mission in Columbus, Ga. He was a retired mechanical engineer and Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ethel Bollinger Roberson, of the home; a stepson, Phillip Foley, of St. Louis, Mo.,; a stepdaughter, Regina McBride, of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Alvin A. Roberson of Morrow, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, LaVita Roberson; a brother and a sister.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Manila with Rev. Craig Russell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.
