Arlie J. Wheatley - Steele, Mo.

Arlie J. Wheatley, 82, of Steele, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East-Memphis. Born May 9, 1920, in Akins, she was a retired custodian and had been a member of the Steele Assembly of God Church since November of 1957.

She is survived by her sons, Don Wheatley of Searcy, Jerry Wheatley of Springfield, Mo., Larry Wheatley of Everton, Mo., Wayne Wheatley of Washburn, Mo., Terry Wheatley of Huntsville, Ala., Mike Whitley of Kirbyville, Mo., Tony Wheatley of Pulaski, Va., and Steve Wheatley of Steele; two daughters, Rita Gestring of Steele and Tammi Gist of Manila; 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Harris and Gertie Watson Harris, and her husband, Charles L. Wheatley.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at Steele Assembly of God Church under the direction of Bradshaw Funeral Home. Burial was in Mount Zion with The Revs. Wayne Wheatley, Charles Clark and John Badgley officiating.
