Jerry Smith - Leachville

Jerry Carlos Smith, 55, of Leachville, died Nov. 21, 2002, at his home. Born at Pontiac, Mich., he was the son of the late Herman and Maxine Morrow Smith and had been a Leachville resident since 1991. He was retired from Gipson well Company and was a member of Calvary Full Gospel Church in Cardwell.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda McComas Smith, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law. Jerry and Sandy Spears of Hornersville and Leroy and Cricket Spears of Ludington, Mich.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Steve Ogden of Navarre, Fla., Linda and Allen Esch of Middlebury, Ind., and Karen and Michael Hart of Senath; a brother, James Edward Smith of Caruthersville; two sisters, Judy Austin of Paragould and Barbara Bost of Senath; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Ogden, and a son-in-law, Paul Hart.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Calvary Full Gospel Church in Cardwell with Rev. Bill Newman officiating. Burial was in the Macy Cemetery in Monette under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.
