Marvin Westley Cornelious - Lake City

Marvin Westley Cornelious, 49, of Lake City, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at his residence. He was reared in Weiner and had lived in Lake city for 12 years. He served in the Navy for two years and the Army for four years. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include a son, Joshua William Cornelious Sr. of Lansing, Kan.; his father, William Cornelious Sr. of Lake City; five brothers, William Cornelious Jr. and Emmanuel Frank Edward Cornelious, both of Little Rock, Walter Lewis Cornelious of San Antonio and Albert Charles Cornelious and Christopher Paul Cornelious, both of Jonesboro; four sisters, Viola Cornelious of Joensboro, Addie Louise Miller of Lake City, Catherlean Gantt of Weiner and Verna Smith of Osceola; and two grandchildren, Katlin Cornelious and Callie Cornelious, both of Lansing, Kan.

The funeral was held at noon Monday at Miller's Temple Church of God in Christ in Jonesboro with Glen Conley officiating.

Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery in Shoffner under the direction of Woodard Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Active pallbearers were Willie Moore, Dan Gantt, Derrick Gore, Lee Quarrels, Roosevelt Ward and Calvin Durden.

Honorary pallbearers were Tony Miller, Junior Gantt, Michael Gantt, Corey Cornelious, Tyrone Cornelious and Jeffrey Cornelious.
