James Wade Pace - Black Oak

James Wade Pace 78, of Black Oak, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at St. Bernard's Medical Center. Born in Black Oak, he was a retired employee of the Singer co. of Trumann. A member of the Black Oak church of Christ, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include three sons, Murel Mangrum of Trumann, Jim Pace of Mountain Home, and Gary Pace of Black Oak; three daughters, Juanita Spivey of Louisville, Texas, Faye Emery of Caraway and Patty Jones of Little Rock; three sisters, Winnie Flynn and Inez Parten, both of Jonesboro, and Hazel Welch of Pekin, Ill.; 16 grandchildren, including Jay Cohn of the home; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lee Pace; a son; and five brothers.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday), in the Chapel of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette with Mearl Henry and Chub Qualls officiating. Burial will be in the Monette Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will include grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the American Federation of the Blind or the American Diabetes Association.
