Pearl Ruby Davenport - Manila

Pearl Ruby Davenport, 88, of Manila, died Friday, July 19, 2002, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Monette, she was the daughter of the late J.B. and Elizabeth Crow Files and was a life-long Manila resident. She was the widow of Claude Davenport and a member of New Harmony Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Gene Davenport of Collinsville, Ill., Bud Davenport of Manila, and Benny Davenport of Hot Springs; five daughters, Faye Regan of Collinsville, Ill., Betty Sue Watkins of New Douglas, Ill., Eunice Thiel of Collinsville, Ill., Joyce Long of Mt. Home and Diane Long of Manila; a brother, Pete Files of Manila; a sister, Alta Loveless of Helena; 26 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lee Pulley.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. William Piercy and Rev. Allen Quinn officiating. Burial will be in the Manila Cemetery.
