Gloria Sue Nichols - Black Oak

Gloria Sue Nichols, 64, of Black Oak, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at her residence. She was a homemaker, member of the Black Oak Church of Christ, lived in the Black Oak area most of her life.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Ivy of Hoxie; three sons, John Looney and Randy Looney of Black Oak, Matthew Thomas of Jonesboro; two sisters, Joyce Tornell of Black Oak and Reba Clapper of Shadydale, Ga., a brother, Randy Penter, of Trumann; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Grant and Velma Penter and a brother, Nathaniel Penter.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Black Oak Church of Christ with Tim Bassing and Chub Qualls officiating. Burial was at the Monette Cemetery with Greg Funeral Home of Monette in charge.

Pallbearers were Barry Thornell, Jim Watson, Eddie Dunigan, Benny Golden, John Kisner, and Dickie Pace. Honorary pallbearers were Taylor Pittman, Jeff Pittman, Jeremy Golden, and Cass Taylor.
