Bessie Mable Phillips - Rivervale

Bessie Mable Phillips, 87, of Rivervale, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was a homemaker and a member of Rivervale Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Jerry Phillips of Rivervale; four daughters, Mildred Holland of Corinth, Miss., Joyce Bernhart of Fort Wayne, Ind., Dorothy Haye of Three Rivers, Mich., and Mary Coats of Watson; four sisters, Geraldine Jackson of Etowah, Wilma Stinnett of Newark, Calif., Eula Lambert of Rochelle, Ill., and Phyllis Holland of Seattle; three brothers, Joe Cockrum of Ceres, Calif., Ray Neal Cockrum of Silver City, N.C., and Ted Cockrum of Waggoner, Okla.; 25 grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kermit Phillips.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. at Rivervale Baptist Church with Jesse Hodges officiating. Burial will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home of Lepanto.
