Raymond Edward Snow - Lake City

Raymond Edward Snow, 83, of Lake City, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City. He was born on May 23, 1918 to James Edward "Ed" and Bertha Lavinia (Doak) Snow in Lake City. He had lived in Lake City most of his life. He was a farmer in the Pleasant Valley Community. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years and was also on the administrative board.

He is survived by a son, James Snow of Dowagiac, Mich.; a daughter, Viola Snow of Lake City; two brothers, Lloyd Snow of Lake City and H.J. Snow of Manila; three grandchildren, Cathy Goodenough, Karen Baham, and Lisa Murphy; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Morrison Snow.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m., Saturday, at the Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Steve Pulliam officiating. Burial was in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro in charge.

Active pallbearers were grandchildren and nephews. Honorary pallbearers were the men of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church.
