Imo Jean Williams Childress 83, of Houston, Texas, died Nov. 24, 2001. Born July 17, 1918, in Manila, she was the daughter of Lafayette and Dora Brinkley Williams. She was a salesperson for a department store for many years.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Lewis Gene and Janet Childress, of Livingston, Texas; five grandchildren, Lewis Matthew Childress and wife, Candace of Sealy, Texas; Cathy Ann Childress of Houston, Texas; Navy Seaman Donald Bellnoski, Jr., Christina Bellnoski, and Daniel Bellnoski, all of Montgomery, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Cody and Chase Childress, both of Sealy, Texas; a brother, Aaron Williams and wife, Rosalee, of Blytheville; two sisters, Velma Barthalomew of Manila, and Wilda Bea Croom and husband, Tommy, of Houston; a sister-in-law, Hester Williams of Manila.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Millard Childress on March 30, 2000; her daughter, Donna Lynn Childress Bellnoski; a brother, John Williams; sisters, Electra Sawyer, Jewell Lowe and Victoria Ashabranner.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Nov. 27 at Woodforest Funeral Home Chapel in Houston, Texas with Rev. Kenneth Plunk officiating. Interment was in Houston National Cenmetery.
