Charles Luther Wildy - Osceola

Charles Luther Wildy, 73, of Osceola died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Osceola. A graduate of Osceola High School, he attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a farmer from 1952-1986. He also served as a director of the Planters Production Credit Association in Mississippi County from 1964-86 and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Blytheville.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Katherine Wildy of Etowah; a daughter, Ann Katherine Carpenter of Marion; two brothers, Earl H. Wildy of Leachville and Wilbur C. Wildy of Osceola; and two grandchildren, Katherine Ann Carpenter and Laura Pace Carpenter.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the family-owned Wildwood at Etowah with Rev. Terry Coday officiating. Burial was in Garden Point Cemetery at Etowah under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto.

Active pallbearers were David Wildy, Justin Wildy, Marshall Wildy, John Clifton Wheeler, Doug Johnson and Paul Wildy.

Honorary pallbearers were Brewer Rhodes, Dannis and Adam Dennis.
