Zelfa Mae Jones - Holcomb, Miss.

Zelfa Mae Jones, 79, of Holcomb, Miss., formerly of Manila, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, at her home. Born at Steele, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Annie Garrison Sammons. She was a longtime Manila resident before making her home in Holcomb. She was a retired butcher for Jolliff's Grocery in Manila. She was the widow of Raymond Jones.

She is survived by a son, Edwin "Pee Wee" Jones of Camden, S.C.; a brother, Johnny Sammons of Manila; two sisters, Geraldine Cherry and Elsie Donner, both of Manila; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Edmond Jones; two brothers and a sister.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Tony Cherry and Rev. Duane Smith officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.
