Ruby Beatrice Smith Griffin - Jonesboro

Ruby Beatrice Smith Griffin, 72, of Jonesboro died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, at her residence. Born at Bayou Meto, she had lived in the Jonesboro area most of her life and was a homemaker. She attended the Liberty Community Church.

She is survived by three sons, Johnny Griffin and Tim Griffin, both of Jonesboro; and Jack Griffin of Bay; three daughters, June Wheeler of Bono, Helen Cambron of Lake City and Shirley Griese of Jonesboro; a brother, Ernest Brewer of Earle; two sisters, Phyliss James of DeWitt and Ida Bell Dorris of Texas; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Griffin, her twin brother and two other brothers.

The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home with the Rev. Roma Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Jason Coin, Roy Rothenberger, Anthony Eggers, Lee Ferguson, Steve Thomas, Ronnie Hill and Jessie Warren.

Honorary pallbearers were Dalton Golden, Thomas Wheeler, Marlin Cambron and Tommy Wheeler.
