Violet Arrington Blankenship - Monette

Violet Arrington Blankenship, 87, of Monette, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at Monette Manor. She was retired from Monette Buffalo Island School System where she worked in the school store for 34 years. She was a member of the Monette First Baptist Church and had lived in Monette and Jonesboro a lifetime.

She is survived by a daughter, Janie Blankenship of Paragould; a grandson, Paul Blankenship of Caruthersville; and a great-granddaughter, Jonna Blankenship.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Blankenship, and two brothers, Asa and Gerald Arrington.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Monette First Baptist Church with Rev. Captain Lovell officiating. Burial was in the Monette Cemetery with Gregg Funeral Home of Monette in charge.

Pallbearers were Bob Chambers, Bob Hurst, Robert Flannigan, Hamil Million, Jered Rolland, and Franklin Smithee. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Elizabeth Sunday School Class.
