Jack L. Teague - Tuxedo, N.C.

Jack L. Teague, 76, of Tuxedo, N.C., died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at Pardee Hospital following a period of declining health.

He was a native of Manila and had lived in Henderson County for the past 20 years. He was the son of the late John and Eva Teague.

A Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he was one of five survivors in his company from the Battle of Guadal Canal. He joined the Army Air Corps after World War II and served in the Air Force during the Korean War and until retirement in 1963.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Wanda P. Teague; two daughters, Cheryl Smith of East Flat Rock and Linda Teague and her husband, Alex Limanni, of Dallas; and four grandchildren, Jennifer Rebecca Smith of Roanoke, Va., Jeremiah Roderick Smith of Phoenix and Rose and Paul Limanni of Dallas.
