Billy Jack Kain Sr. - Lake City

Billy Jack Kain Sr., 65, of Lake City died Thursday, July 12, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Lake City, he lived in Jacksonville, Fla., before moving back to Lake City in 1973. He was a retired chief in the Navy with 22 years of active duty. He also was a retired electrician, employed by the physical plant of Arkansas State University for 21 years. He was a Baptist and member of the Navy Fleet Reserve.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Clifton Kain of the home; two sons, Billy Jack Kain Jr., of Lake City and Mike Kain of Paragould; two brothers, Shirley Kain of Baltimore, Md., and Cliff Kain of West Memphis; a sister, Dorothy Sims of Lake City, and three granddaughters.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Lake City Chapel of Emerson Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Clark officiating. Burial was in Monette Cemetery with full military honors.
