W.J. "Jay" Morse - Blytheville

W.J. "Jay" Morse, Sr., 68, of Blytheville, died Monday, July 9, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Blytheville. Born Sept. 11, 1932, in Mulberry, Ark., he was the son of Coleman and Bertha McCoy Morse. He was a lifelong area resident, a farmer, and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gail Morse of the home: three daughters, Mary Lou Parsley and Donna Jean Dehart, both of Manila, and Linda Gail Parnell of Osceola; two sons, Coleman Lee Morse of Quitman and W.J. Morse, Jr. of Blytheville; a brother, Jessie Morse of Steele, Mo., and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and four sisters.

The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville with Rev. Jeff Moody officiating. Burial was in Dogwood Cemetery.
