Delana Marvin Hatcher - Leachville

Delana Marvin Hatcher, 77, of Leachville, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at his home. Born at Black Oak, he was the son of the late Lester and Audrey Hatcher. He lived most of his adult life in California and Arizona where he owned and operated convenience stores. Following retirement, he made his home in Leachville since 1999. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Malone Hatcher of the home; a son, Paul Hatcher of West Monroe, La.; four daughters, Sheila Hatcher, Beth Stark, both of Tucson, Ariz., Gerri Longo of Newark, Calif., and Terri Sutton of Cottonwood, Ariz.; his mother-in-law, Addie Malone of Leachville; an aunt, Veida Iverson of Leachville; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Friday at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Tom Bray and Rev. Bill Longo officiating. Burial was in the Leachvile Cemetery.

The family requests that anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Leachville First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Pallbearers were Adam Longo, Matthew Hatcher, Michael Malone, Burl Langston, Alfred Langston and Doc Malloy.
