Goldie Mae Bobbitt - Lake City

Goldie Mae Bobbitt, 59, of Lake City died Thursday, June 14, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Guthrie, Okla., she had lived in the Lake City area for the past 25 years, was a member of the Lake City Church of God, where she served as church clerk for 20 years, and was employed at Robinson Tax Service.

Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Adams and Ellen Hotchkiss, both of Jonesboro, and Billie Jean Frost of Troy, Tenn.; a sister, Louise Cooper of Springfield, Mo.; several grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Bobbitt, and two sisters.

The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home with Raymond Britt and Carl Edge officiating. Burial was in Pine Log Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Ronnie Hammett, David Hammett, Dennis Hammett, Randy Hammett, Billy Adams and Terry Haskett.

Honorary pallbearers were William Robinson, Don Carter, Carl Anders, Gary Randel and Billy Gidcomb.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the American Cancer Society or the Lake City Church of God.
