Charlcie Deoma Anthony - Leachville

Charlcie Deoma Anthony, 82, of Leachville, the widow of Roscoe Anthony, died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Lepanto, she was the daughter of the late Ted and Elsie Smith and had been a Leachville resident since 1943. She was a member of Leachville Second Baptist Church and was retired from brown Shoe Company.

Survivors include a son, Harold Blocker of Kennett; three daughters, Joan Winstead of Jonesboro, Trecia Stiles of Plant city, Fla., Rebecca Leonard of Paragould; four step-daughters, Dora Biggerstaff of Leachville, Geneva Richardson of Cardwell, Dola Henderson of Rockport, Texas, and Deloris Austin of Leachville; a brother, Clarence "Junior Smith of Manila; a sister, Loraine Hodge of Picayune, Miss.; 10 grandchidlren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Darrell Blocker, a brother, Dallas Smith, and her sisters, Mary Lou Ridge and Frankie Williams.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Second Baptist Church in Leachville with Rev. Don Wilson and Rev. Charles Stoddard officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.
