Ivan R. Stone - Jonesboro

Ivan R. Stone, 66, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, April 11, 2001. A native of Leachville, he had lived in Jonesboro 45 years and was formerly of New Orleans. He was an Arkansas State University graduate and was a guidance counselor at Nettleton High School for 36 years before retirement. He was a member of the Men's Bible Class at First United Methodist Church and the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Stone of the home; a daughter, Julie Rupp of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Gregg Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Fred Haustein officiating. Burial services were private.
