J.W. (Bud) Wortham - Manila

J.W. Edward (Bud) Wortham, 83, of Manila died Sunday, April 8, 2001. He was born July 7, 1917, to Jennie and William Wortham. He was a retired carpenter and volunteer fireman. He was an avid golfer and a huge baseball fan. He was a member of the Manila First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Irene Wortham; a son, J.W. Edward Wortham, Jr. of Tulsa, Okla.; a daughter, Susan Lewis of Jonesboro; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, George Wortham, of Batesville, and a sister, Maureen Powell, of Manila.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. Brother Jim Fowler of Paragould and Ray Dill of Manila will officiate.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Manila Cemetery.
