Wise went the distance, allowing only two hits while striking out 10 Lady Bobcats. Wise gave up just one unearned run while issuing three walks.
Manila jumped to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Katie Donner drilled a two-out triple to right field and scored after Jonna Dodd ripped an RBI single past first base.
The Lady Lions picked up another run in the second inning by stringing three hits together. Kristen Painter led off the inning with an infield single and advanced to third on Leigha Woody's double off the centerfielder's glove. Kimberly Wise drove in Painter two outs later with an RBI hit but Woody was thrown out at the plate trying to score, leaving Manila with a 2-0 lead.
Dodd's RBI groundout gave Manila a 3-0 lead after three innings before Corning finally got on the board with their only run of the game in the bottom of the fourth.
The Lady Lions put the game away by scoring two more runs in the top of the sixth, thanks to a two-run single off the bat of Heather Dozhier, scoring Brooke Hill and Donner, who had both singled.
Wise sat down the final 10 Lady Bobcat hitters to secure the victory and give Manila the district title for the second straight year.
Manila advanced to the championship game with a thrilling come from behind 6-5 victory over Brookland Monday afternoon in the semi-finals.
Brookland took an early 2-0 lead, scoring unearned runs in the first and fourth innings.
Manila finally tied the score on a two-run single by Leigha Woody in the bottom of the fourth inning, and took a 3-2 lead with an unearned run in the bottom of the fifth.
Brookland battled back, scoring three runs in the top of the seventh to take a 5-3 lead, but the Lady Lions came right back with three runs of their own in the bottom of the inning to cap off the comeback win.
Chantel Hanes began the game winning rally with a walk and came around to score on an RBI triple by Kimberly Wise to cut the deficit to 5-4. Katie Donner followed with an RBI groundout, scoring Wise from third to knot the game at 5-5. Colleen Kemp drew a one out walk and stole second base. Kemp advanced to third on an error and scored the game winning run when Brooke Hill drilled an RBI single to left field after a walk to Jonna Dodd.
Wise picked up the win, striking out 13 Lady Bearcats while giving up nine hits and five runs, three earned. Ginny Nelms took the loss for Brookland.
