Marcilee Welch

Marcilee Welch, 86, of Jonesboro, former longtime Leachville resident and widow of Edward Welch, passed from this life Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at the NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. Born in Leachville, she was the daughter of the late E.S. and Jennie Lee Lacey Robins and was a 1951 graduate of Leachville High School. She taught several years for Leachville Public Schools and later worked as a receptionist in the Finance Department for Arkansas State University. Marcilee was an avid gardener and had been a Jonesboro resident since 2002. She was a former member of the Leachville First Baptist Church and a current member of the Jonesboro First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Welch, and a brother, Jim Ed Robins.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robin and Regina Welch of Leachville and Jerry and Susan Welch of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Jennifer Primm (Heath), Amber McElhaney (David), Brian Welch (Amanda), and Leslie Strubbe (Mark); eight great-grandchildren, Hannah Primm, Jenna Primm, Drew McElhaney, Alex McElhaney, Will McElhaney, Cassidy Strubbe, Emma Welch and Cooper Welch.

There will be a private family graveside service in the Leachville Cemetery with burial under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville. The family prefers any memorials be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 841125, Dallas, Texas 75284 or Children's Homes Inc, 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450.
