Lady Rebels split four games
Riverside took on 6A powerhouse Jonesboro Monday night at Hurricane Gym and fell 46-30. The Lady Hurricane held a slim 4-3 edge after a low scoring first quarter. The two teams battled to a 15-15 draw at intermission. Jonesboro began to pull away in the third period, outscoring Riverside 14-7 to grab a 29-22 advantage heading into the final frame.
Brooklyn Dooley and Destiny Salary scored 14 and 13 points respectively to top the Lady Hurricane. Jonesboro made 7-12 foul shots and hit three treys.
Lotti Hoffman paced Riverside with 11 points. Grace Puckett scored nine, Carolina Hoffman tallied six while Hailey Carr and Alexis Courtney chipped in two points apiece. The Lady Rebels knocked down 13-20 free throws and dropped in three triples.
Riverside played host to Marked Tree Tuesday night at Lake City and came away with a 67-30 victory over the Lady Indians. Riverside led 16-9 after the first quarter, 36-16 at the half and 59-28 after three periods of play.
Briley Douglas scored 17 points to lead the Lady Rebels. Lotti Hoffman dropped in 13, Carolina Hoffman and Anna Meurer pumped in 12 points each, with Meurer canning four three pointers. Puckett tallied six, Hailey Carr and Alexis Courtney netted three points each while Alexis Boatman added one point. Riverside hit 10-17 charity tosses and nailed seven three pointers.
Makayla Marshall topped Marked Tree with 11 points. The Lady Indians struggled from the foul stripe, making just 10-25 attempts. Marked Tree drilled two three pointers.
In junior high action, Riverside crushed Marked Tree 40-11. Ten players hit the scoring column for the Lady Rebels, led by Lindy Boltís eight-point performance. Ali Towels had seven, Levi Moyer netted five, while Gracie Washington and Kaley Stevens chipped in four points apiece. Sarah Gallapoo contributed three, Kalli Shasteen and Hannah Gosa dropped in two points each while Jasmine Cerda added one point.
Riverside traveled to Harrisburg Thursday night and routed the Lady Hornets 67-30. Carolina Hoffman led four Lady Rebels in double figures with 18 points. Lotti Hoffman and Hailey Carr chipped in 15 points apiece while Grace Puckett added 10.
Riverside participated in the Fight Like a Girl Classic Saturday at Marmaduke and lost 35-26 to Brookland. The two teams fought to an 11-11 tie after the first quarter. The Lady Bearcats held Riverside scoreless in the second stanza and took a 14-11 halftime advantage. Brookland increased their margin to 26-18 after three quarters. Lotti Hoffman scored a game high 12 points to lead Riverside while Kalifa Ford tallied 11 for the Lady Bearcats.
In junior high action at the Marmaduke Classic, Paragould beat Riverside 35-19.
The Lady Rebels return to action Monday when they play host to Tuckerman at Lake City before traveling to Marked Tree Tuesday night. Riverside will journey to Lepanto Thursday night to face East Poinsett County before completing the week by participating in the Highland Classic Saturday.
