David Edwards, 63, of Corning, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Mr. Edwards was born in Blytheville on June 18, 1955. He was a past administrator at the Corning Nursing Home and past fire chief of the Corning Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time on the computer. He was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Corning.
He is survived by his mother, Rayo (Veach) Edwards of Corning; his son, Matthew David Edwards of Horn Lake, Miss.; stepson, Tyler Gaines; brother, Kerry Edwards of Osceola; sister, Karen Crismon of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Russell Edwards, and half-brother, Frankie Meeker.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in the Corning Cemetery with James Keel officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. Thursday until the time of service in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel.
