Manila School Board accepts resignations
Manila School Board held the regular monthly meeting on Aug. 6.
All board members, Jeremy Jackson, president; Tracey Reinhart, vice president; Monte Middleton, secretary; Johnny McCain, Tommy Wagner, Danny Robbins and Casey Wells, were present.
Superintendent Jason Evers presented seven resignations. Evers recommended the board accept the resignations of Candice Dunigan, high school art teacher; Megan Brown, high school math teacher; Janie Minton, elementary migrant program aide (retiring); Penny Matthews, cafeteria; Janie Wilhote, custodian; Brandon Bryant, ISS teacher; and Alexandra Hart, high school girls basketball coach. The board voted unanimously to accept the resignations as presented.
The board voted unanimously to hire Kim Hart as high school math teacher; Peggy Davis, custodian; and Jason Baltimore, bus driver.
Adult meal prices will go up 10 cents, to $3.65 for the 2018-2019 school year.
Superintendent Evers announced there will be a ribbon cutting at the new high school at 5 p.m. on Thursday followed by an open house.
