Amos Corbitt Carter, Jr., 52, of Jonesboro, passed from this life Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Indianapolis, Ind., and raised in Manila, he was the son of the late Amos Corbitt and Patricia Andrews Carter. He was a retired carpenter having worked for David Robinson Construction Company near Brookland. Amos had attended Manila Schools and was of the Baptist faith. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Michelle Lamont Carter, in June 2017.

He is survived by three sons, Amos Carter, III, Casey Daniel Carter and Tyler Jodee Carter, all of Jonesboro; two daughters, Brandi Renee Estes (Eric) and Angel Leighann Carter-Medlock (Delbert), all of Jonesboro; four brothers, Delbert Carter (Joyce) and Michael Carter (Glenda), all of Manila; David Yancey of Jonesboro and Darrell Denbow of Manila; three sisters, Sandra Stull (Graig) of Jonesboro, Lisa Rupp (Larry) of Jonesboro and Donna Boatman (William) of Caraway.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with the Rev. Mike Colvin and Rev. Graig Stull officiating. Final disposition is private. The family will receive visitors Friday from 1 p.m. until service time.
