Robert "Bud" Davenport

Robert Oneal "Bud" Davenport, 75, of Manila passed away Monday, July 16, 2018, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Manila, he was the son of the late Claude and Pearl Files Davenport and had been a lifelong area resident. Bud farmed for several years before joining the maintenance department at American Greetings in Osceola. Among his many hobbies he enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising quail. He was a longtime member of the Blackwater Baptist Church near Manila.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Evans Davenport, an infant son, Buddy Oneal Davenport, two sisters and one brother.

Survivors include one daughter, Pam Moore (Brent) of Manila; two granddaughters, Heather Kisner (Robert) of Manila and Codie Huffman (Michael) of Armorel; three great-grandchildren, Lydia, Jett and Amelia Kisner; one brother, Benny Davenport (Marion) of Hot Springs; four sisters, Sue Watkins of Manila, Eunice Thiel of Collinsville, Ill., Joyce Long of Mt. Home and Diann Long (Boyce) of Manila.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Jim Swinford officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Thursday from 12:30 until service time at the funeral home.
