Manila School board approves purchases and fills pre-k position
Manila School Board met in a short special session Monday, July 9, to consider purchases and personnel issues.
Superintendent Jason Evers recommended the board approve building supply purchases for the new high school as presented, which passed unanimously.
Board members present included Jeremy Jackson, president; Danny Robins, Monte Middleton, Casey Wells, Tracey Reinhart and Johnny McCain.
Evers presented a list of items and requested approval to sell the items not being used and asked for permission to add to the list as needed. The items to be sold are from the old school and will not be used in the new school. The date for the sale will be determined later.
The board went into executive session to discuss personnel. Kim Tomblin was hired as pre-kindergarten teacher for the 2018-2019 school year.
The next regular school board meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 19.
