Jason Evers named Manila District superintendent
Manila School Board met in a special called meeting Wednesday, May 2. Following an executive session, the board voted unanimously to hire Jason Evers as superintendent. Mr. Evers is presently serving as elementary principal in the district.
Superintendent Pam Castor recently announced she would be leaving at the end of her contract. She is taking a position with the Crowley's Ridge Cooperative.
The board hired John Parrish as high school principal and assistant superintendent.
Board members present included Tommy Wagner, Jeremy Jackson, Monte Middleton, Paul Wayne Hicks, Tracey Reinhart and Dan Robbins. Johnny McCain was not present.
The board also accepted the resignation of Lee Wimberly as high school assistant principal. Coach Wimberly will continue as boys high school basketball coach.
The board voted to hire Jake Hill as assistant football coach and teacher.
