Manila Junior High baseball review

Mania Junior High Lions baseball team recorded five wins from April 17-21 finishing the week with a 12-1 record to date.

The junior Lions traveled to Marmaduke April 17 winning 9-3. The winning pitcher was Mason Mullen throwing a complete game with four strike outs, no walks and giving up only three runs.

Multiple hitters included Jake Baltimore 2 for 4; Dustin Clark 2 for 4; and Dax Davison 2 for 3 with a double.

Manila hosted a double header against Rivercrest on April 19 winning both games, 11-4 and 10-1.

In the first game Jake Baltimore was the starting pitcher with reliever Luke Beach taking the win.

Multiple hitters included Dax Davison 2 for 3 with a double and Jaron Burrow 2 for 2.

Dax Davison was the winning pitcher for the second game with Drake Shelton the relief pitcher.

Multiple hitters included Dustin Clark 2 for 2 with a triple; Jackson Roddy 1 for 2 with a double; and Jaron Burrow 2 for 2.

Piggott came to Manila on April 21 for a double header.

In the first game Dax Davison was the winning pitcher giving him a 4-1 record for the year. He pitched five strike outs, no walks, one hit and no earned runs. Luke Beach was the relief pitcher with four strike outs giving up three hits and allowing only one run.

The final score was 8-1 with Jackson Roddy hitting 2 for 2 with a double and Tanner Miller 1 for 2 with a double.

In the second game of the night the junior Lions came out on top 12-1 with Mason Mullen the winning pitcher. He had two strikeouts, four walks and gave up one run. Luke Beach came in a relief pitcher giving up no runs.

Jake Baltimore hit 2 for 2 leading the game off with a triple, Dax Davison 3 for 3; Jackson Roddy 2 for 2 and Jaron Burrow 2 for 2.

Head coach is Jason Crane. The team has three games left in the season and the District Tournament will start May 7 at Walnut Ridge.
