Burrow and Robertson selected to play in Arkansas High School All Star game

Two area high school basketball standouts have been selected to play in this year’s High School All-Star game held June 23 at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Manila’s Joel Burrow was selected for the boys team while Riverside’s Haven Robertson was named to the girls squad.

Burrow was named to the 3A All State team as well as the 3A All State Tournament team. Burrow pumped in 16.5 points per contest, grabbed 4.1 rebounds and handed out two assists per game during his final season with the Lions. Burrow canned 82 three pointers on the year, good for a 37 percent rate. The senior also made 54 percent of his field goal attempts and sank 75 percent of his free throws.

Robertson led the Lady Rebels to the state tournament, averaging a team high 13.5 points per game this season. Robertson helped Riverside win 108 games in her four seasons. She was named All-State three consecutive years and was selected to the All-State Tournament team her sophomore and senior campaigns. Robertson is a member of the 1,000-point club at Riverside.
