Ines Morries, 88, of Monette, former longtime Manila resident, passed from this life, Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at her home. Born in Alicia, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Rosa Estes Williams and was raised in the Leachville and Monette areas. The widow of Jack Morries, she was retired from Brown Shoe Company and was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Ines was an avid reader and enjoyed dancing and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Morries, a daughter-in-law, Lona Morries, three grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Tommy Morries of Manila, Danny Morries of Jonesboro, Johnny Morries of Hot Springs; one daughter, Pat Austin of Monette; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, April 13, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Ray Dill officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Steve Austin, Kip Morries, Skyler Morries, Nate Morries, Kris Seyler, Ben Henson and Jeff Slaughter. Honorary pallbearers include Garry Jolliff, Bobby Tucker, Danny Robbins, Jerry Austin, Tommy Towles, Dennis Newcomb, Paul Scoggins, Jim Fields and Michael "Stick" Denton.
The family will receive visitors Friday from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
