Lady Mustangs beat Armorel 6-2

Emma Graddy blasted a homerun and Jealynn Cates added an RBI double to help Buffalo Island Central get past Armorel 6-2 in high school softball action Tuesday at Monette.

The Mustangs held a 2-0 lead after three innings before the Lady Tigers got RBI singles from Kayla Cluck and Ally Jewell to tie the game 2-2. BIC answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning and tacked on two more in the sixth to seal the win.

Graddy finished the day 3-4 at the plate while Hanah Carle earned the win, scattering four hits over seven innings of pitching.

BIC began the week, losing 13-4 Monday to Marmaduke. Angel Johnson went 3-5 for the Lady Greyhounds with three RBI. Alyssa Henry singled and doubled, Morgan Joiner was 2-4 and scored three runs while winning pitching Natalie Lentz had a pair of RBI singles and scored twice. Reesa Hampton singled twice.

BIC traveled to East Poinsett County for a doubleheader Thursday. The Lady Warriors downed BIC 16-2 in the opener before shutting out the Lady Mustangs 7-0 in the nightcap.

BIC returns to action Thursday with a road trip to Marked Tree. BIC will host Cross County Friday.

BICíS boys did not play last week. The Mustangs will resume action Monday with a road trip to McCrory. BIC travels to Armorel Tuesday before going to Marked Tree Thursday. The Mustangs will close the week with a home game Friday against Cross County.
