Lady Lions end regular season with win at Westside
Manila Lady Lions finished their regular season with a 58-47 victory Friday night at Westside.
Madison Bibbs and Brailey Hampton pumped in 18 points apiece to lead the Lady Lions. Sydney Adcock also hit double digits, scoring 10 points. Andi Baker flipped in a pair of three pointers and finished with six while Jill Helton, Courtney Merritt and Presley Pierce all added two points apiece.
The Lady Lions began the week with a 57-35 loss Tuesday night against Gosnell at Lion Gym. The Lady Pirates jumped to a 16-6 lead after the first quarter and held a 30-17 halftime advantage. Gosnell led 45-30 after three periods of play.
The Lady Pirates placed four players in double figures, led by Caylee Millerís 15 points. Zkiah Kuykendall tallied 11 while Lakiya Turner and Alyssa Griffin added 10 points each.
Madison Bibbs paced Manila with 10 points. Adcock and Meg Gifford scored seven points apiece, Hampton and Pierce chipped in four points each, Baker netted two while Helton added one point.
Manila hosted Brookland Wednesday night and dropped a 67-36 decision to the Lady Bearcats. Brookland jumped ahead 24-12 after the first quarter and increased their lead to 32-15 at intermission. The Lady Bearcats held a commanding 47-26 advantage after three periods of play.
Brookland had three players in double digits, led by Ally Loflinís 13 points. Mallorie Lovrien tallied 11 while Emily Pate chipped in 10 points.
Merritt paced the Lady Lions with eight points. Adcock, Gifford and Helton all scored seven points while Baker netted three. Bibbs and Kaitlyn Adams pitched in two points apiece.
Manila will open district tournament play Tuesday night at Piggott. The Lady Lions will take on Corning at 7 p.m.
